The Provo River with McGuin 8-30-15

 The water was high!!!!

Overcast skies and we were hoping for some dries but it was blown out.

 Cheese!

McGuin up in the trees slayed a few in here. We both caught lots of browns and one rainbow.

He caught a nice one in here on streamer!

 On the tracks.

 Down stream.

Caught this guy! Great way to spend a Sunday!

Good Old Family Road Trip Part 2

After the Green we headed towards its sister river the Colorado. We ended up near Kremling or as the local fishermen affectionately called it "Krem-tucky"...  Every time I play "Blue Moon of Kentucky" I may replace a chorus or two with "Krem-tucky....

We wanted to take Darby down the Colorado and we settled on the State Bridge to Two Bridges stretch.

A lot of time behind the windshield...

 For this!!!!! Its worth it.

 State bridge above.

Gorgeous day and this stretch had lots of fast runs. Fun rowing!

 Group shot!

The bow is a popular spot...

 Liv lost her bottom teeth.

The boys loved the train that zoomed by.

 Ash on the oars again.

 Nice stretch for sure.

Rocco dove in to cool off...

Now at Two Bridges where we took out. We then headed off for my home town Dillion Colorado!

Took a gondola ride at Breckenridge.

The Badgers rolled into town and we headed out for Jesus camp (Young Life)

Passed through Leadville on our way to Buena Vista.

 More of Leadville

Rocco and I at cowboy night.

We took a jeep ride up to Tin Cup Pass. 12,200 feet and on the continental divide.

 Lunch on the summit.

My parents, the Badgers and us attended the three night camp.

Zip lines, rope courses, horse rides, swimming, games, talks, good meals, skits, etc.. The kids loved it. I know this is a fly fishing blog but this camp was part of the trip.

Ash and I walked away happy as can be! What a classic family road trip!

Good Old Fashion Family Road Trip Part I

We set out to Bear Lake for the first leg of the trip. We camped at Cisco Beach with my brother, sister and parents. Liv works the metal detector above.

Me and the kids go for a spin in the crystal clear water.

 Made a cairn.

We then hit the Green River and camped on the B section. Felt so good to be back.

Sneaky was happy to be sitting in the bow.

Setting up camp at Red Creek 1

I got to fish from shore for a few minutes and caught 5 nice browns. #gladihadmynetback....

The ultimate goal is to have Ash comfortable on the oars so I can catch a few along the way! haha. She did so good!

 Saw lot's of cranes

Came across a couple shady vultures hanging out over the river

 Liv  getting silly

 What a beautiful canyon!

Looking back up at a rapid..

 His shag is returning!

While at camp I snuck away for a fish but Ash caught me..

Spent 4 nights in a row in our tent which was a first. Rained as usual and Red Creek was running red. You can see the far bank was muddy and further down stream it made conditions rough for any kind of fishing options.

When the kids go to Church, Dad goes fishing...

Ran into a guy at the access that had driven that morning from Casper Wyoming to fish my home stretch. Thinking about all the rivers he passed to get here made me want to scratch my eyes out but later that day I realized why a feller may make that trip....

Its a great river with great fish!

The picture doesn't do it justice but what a fight he put on...

Ideal flows and the fish were happy. As was I..

Streamer and nymph rig hit the spot.

Can you correctly identify the animal in the picture? If so please let me know and I will send you a free gift!!!! haha
Cheers,
Chris Giles
