Mt. Aire Back Country Turns

Cutty sent the message out last night and Downing, Frisch and I met at the gate of Mt. Aire where Cutty picked us up in his sweet 6 man Rhino..

From his Cabin we took two snowmobiles up the trail as far as we could and started skinning up. We stayed on an old road grade most of the way and we gained the ridge between Parley's and Millcreek.

Frisch spooked a couple of moose on the ridge that were feeding in some tight brush. Didn't get the moose on camera but we got some great turns.

The first run is a solo mission from Saturday at the Giles cabin. The rest is the Mt Aire session...

Thanks,
Chris Giles

Facials and Big Bows

Grabbed a Whitty way too tightly today. Next thing I knew he flipped jizz across my face. Look closely at the sunglasses. ..

Ha ha, yeah yeah, laugh it up!!

Frisch, Dalt and I hit a favorite stretch tonight. It was good to get out and even better to get this GUY!

 She was fat and healthy.

Land locked Steel Head as we like to joke.

 Just under 20"

 Beauty!

 One more shot

 Man she was fat.

Frisch having a go. Everyone was landing fish tonight.

 Dalton checking his rig.

Dried up summer plants made for a nice shot.

Got confronted by Rick and he laid out the law for us. What started as a somewhat heated conversation ended with us limping away from Rick's scorn. He was nice but it was clear we were in his realm and it's always better to "comply" and nod okay Rick... Enough said.

 Dalt battles a nice brown.

It was getting dark but we kept working our way up stream. It got really cold and Frisch was starting to hurt with no waders.

 Frisch in a great run.

What a treat to be able to take off from work and be into great fish so close to home. I didn't see any Dragon Flies this late in the season but they will be back next season. wink wink.
Thanks,
Chris Giles

Wyoming Adventure...

 Went to Wyoming...

Best camp spot ever. The roads are tough though. Don't know if the camper would make it....

Woke up to beavers right outside of my tent. Sweet... Usually they are inside my tent.. hehe

Jon warming up. He pulled up at 3:30 in the morning. Don't ask me how he found us.

Frisch and Downing enjoying the evening.

Caught a glimpse of a Caterpillar..
They are out this time of year.

Caught a few in the rain.

Frisch lands a good one. maiden voyage on his new rod...

Big Kiss.. The feelings were mutual...

Downing and Starlin take the high road.

 Jon hunting.

 A little Cutty

 Little Cutty turned bigger!

 Sorting out...

 There we go.
Sixer riding on it. Who's is bigger?

 Nice!!!!

 Quality of life...

 The ride was tightly Squeezed!!
Starlin Squeezed up front a few times...

Happy campers. Can't wait for next weekend!

Frisch is Home!

The last two Sunday's in a row have been spent with Frisch on the Weber River. He was new to the bounce rig but he caught on fast and he was slaying them all day on Sunday.

It's great to have him back in town and I look forward to many more days on the river. Enjoy a few shots.

First fish of the day came quick... Third cast and Frisch was stoked!!!

We caught 15 fish between us. 50-50 whitty's to browns.
For those in the know... RV and Long Horns.

Way up river.
 The joy of fishing...

The fishing is okay and the Weber had an off year in my opinion. Let's hope for bigger trout this next season. Fish have been plentiful but nothing in the monster category that we are used to. In years past we have had great success this time of year with big "Reservoir Dogs" coming out of Echo and big resident browns but they have been few and far between. It was a record year for run off and maybe it cleaned a few out.... Or maybe they are hiding in new haunts. Fish on.

Thanks,
Chris Giles
