Uinta Tail Water

The only brown/fish I caught all day. The water; low, clear and shallow. I only spotted a few fish. I tried really hard though...!

The best run I found.... It was fast and deep enough to get a few bites and spots.

I walked for 1 1/2 hours down river and fished up. Ran into a couple different groups near the access. I think next time it will have to be an earlier morning and a longer walk. Google Earth shows some great water but you have to put in a serious hike. Which is good with me. There are stories of huge fish in here and I will try and find a few this year.

Looking down stream near the access. Lot's of beaver dams and slow shallow water. About an hour in I was in spooky country with red rocks with pine and sage brush. Seemed like mountain lions were around high on the cliffs and signs of moose, deer and elk were at every step. My head was on a swivel for sure.

 Snow remains.

Have a good one!

Catching Up

Been working on the basement but here are a few pictures of recent adventures.

Ash and I went for an overnight-er in Coalville without the kids. Breath of fresh air.
Tried a few casts and lost 4-5 fish. Limped back to the hotel a skunked man. Haha!

Lower with Frisch. Caught plenty on this day. Found some new access.

 Caught a bunch in here.

A little low but tons of fish are active.

B Rad on some local water.

 After work special...

Yurt trip 2013. All geared up.

In attendance, Chris Downing, Jon Dalton, Jon (Cutty) Koenig, Ryan Frisch and myself.

Myself.

The dogs got in the river at the bridge.

Trek in was nice with snow flurrys and bits of sunshine.

 East Fork Yurt.

Frisch and Cutty on dinner. Damn good stew! Black beans, corn, chipoltle peppers, ground beef, potatoes, celery, carrots, salsa and green sauce.

The trip was not without blood though. Lennon took a wound during a session of fetch.
It was all hands on deck for a while getting it cleaned and her comfortable.

This is the piece of fur we found outside the yurt. Looks like a mouse pattern. Sorry for the graphic images. Lennon is doing just fine. She is a tough old girl.

 Frisch.

 Downing.

Cutty looking for Dalt who had an epic drop in, sled and all, down to the river bottom. Such Skill... We all thought about making the decent but the trees proved to tight...
Have a good one!
