The Green With The Franco's

The Franco's bought a boat and made a custom frame. This was the maiden journey.

They brought their kids Zoe and Devan. Similar ages as our kids.

 Nice little creek flowing in.

A little sliver of light on the old growth ponderosa's.

A section on a Friday afternoon.

Michael was a bit nervous as was I my first float. Having the kids to boot enhances the survival mode. He nailed it though and totally got the rowing concept.

Camped at Deer Run and had some really good meals! The kids took a liking to climbing trees which was awesome.

The Franco's brought squirt guns for all the kids and pirate battles would break out anytime our boats would get close.... Good fun.

Swimming hole and all the kids went for a swim. The clear water never gets old..

Caught a nice rainbow in here.

Ash got this great shot.

 Franco's living the life!

We floated the A on Friday afternoon and the A and B on Saturday.

 ROCCO!!!!

 Ash and I

Liv shows off her squirt gun!

The ultimate! Ash rowed like a champ.

And I fished but it was slow... but I fished!

 Nice rainbow

All the kids had a blast.

Ash passed a big mile stone this trip. She gets the concepts of rowing. She was ducking and weaving in and out of rocks.

I think Michael and his family are hooked! Can't wait for the next float...

Thanks,
Chris Giles

The Provo River with McGuin 8-30-15

 The water was high!!!!

Overcast skies and we were hoping for some dries but it was blown out.

 Cheese!

McGuin up in the trees slayed a few in here. We both caught lots of browns and one rainbow.

He caught a nice one in here on streamer!

 On the tracks.

 Down stream.

Caught this guy! Great way to spend a Sunday!
Thanks,

Good Old Family Road Trip Part 2

After the Green we headed towards its sister river the Colorado. We ended up near Kremling or as the local fishermen affectionately called it "Krem-tucky"...  Every time I play "Blue Moon of Kentucky" I may replace a chorus or two with "Krem-tucky....

We wanted to take Darby down the Colorado and we settled on the State Bridge to Two Bridges stretch.

A lot of time behind the windshield...

 For this!!!!! Its worth it.

 State bridge above.

Gorgeous day and this stretch had lots of fast runs. Fun rowing!

 Group shot!

The bow is a popular spot...

 Liv lost her bottom teeth.

The boys loved the train that zoomed by.

 Ash on the oars again.

 Nice stretch for sure.

Rocco dove in to cool off...

Now at Two Bridges where we took out. We then headed off for my home town Dillion Colorado!

Took a gondola ride at Breckenridge.

The Badgers rolled into town and we headed out for Jesus camp (Young Life)

Passed through Leadville on our way to Buena Vista.

 More of Leadville

Rocco and I at cowboy night.

We took a jeep ride up to Tin Cup Pass. 12,200 feet and on the continental divide.

 Lunch on the summit.

My parents, the Badgers and us attended the three night camp.

Zip lines, rope courses, horse rides, swimming, games, talks, good meals, skits, etc.. The kids loved it. I know this is a fly fishing blog but this camp was part of the trip.

Ash and I walked away happy as can be! What a classic family road trip!
