Boyhood Haunt

Got out for a quick fish in my parents backyard.

 Sight fished for Browns

Camera cord and a nice brown.

They were chasing big stimi's. Just like they did when I was 12 years old. Not much has changed on this stretch and memories came flooding back as we hunted along up the creek. This time around I had a Sage instead of a Scienctific Angler. Other than that it was like second hand.

Tight casting. The rush is still there on this stretch as we crept up on promising holes.

We employed the bow and arrow cast all day. Like Subsistence hunters we search the land for fish.

Dalt with the sling shot in action. Very spooky fish in low water. We did good though.

 Yeah!

We spotted a BIG fish and we know where he hangs out. Lots of talk about how to land this guy because of the geography and brush. We will be back. for him.

Thanks for taking a look.

22' Rainbow and Liv Catches Her First Fish

Went to the cabin over the weekend.

Mom and Dad are doing some work on their drive way and Rocco was really digging the tractor.
 Taking a walk

 Liv taking a break

Got an opportunity to fish a private lake. Friends of our family had a BBQ get together and we brought our gear.
 Good size lake

It was slow at first and I had a few looks. I decided to check out the inlet. I spotted a dozen small Brookies being harrassed by a massive Rainbow. I crept up and drug a streamer through his neighborhood and he attacked on the first cast.

10 minutes later I had him in my hands.

 22 inches on the tape!

 Family shot minus Rocco

These fish are very healthy. Saw a couple of Osprey's as well. It's easy to see why they are around...

With the 22" bow in the books I turned my focus to getting Liv a fish.

 Getting used to the equipment

 Well posted

Coco and Rocco take a stroll.

 SUCCESS!!!
I asked her if she wanted to kiss it and she started screaming...

Coco and Criddle get on the board.

Liv wanted another fish so Papa Don hung out with her for a good half hour trying to catch another one.

She hooked this one and reeled it in all on her own. Very impressed and Papa Don was in heaven!

Great day all around. Not many 2 1/2 year olds catch an 18" fish on their first fishing outing. I have a feeling she will be trying to out do herself for a long time to come. Maybe a pink fly rod is in her future...

Thanks,
Chris Giles

Dawn Breaks

We drove up late Thursday night and woke up early Friday morning. Talk about a stove! Pancakes, bacon and cinnamon rolls in the oven. We have come along ways...

Lennon looking stoked!
We tried something new this time. We cached a mountain bike at the very top of the section we usually fish. With the bike we decided to link two sections we had never done before. It was daunting but we committed and pulled it off. On the river and walking for 9 straight hours! We figured we covered at least 8 miles. When we got to the top Dalt rode back and grabbed the truck while I watched the dogs and gear. We made the dogs run back while we rode in the truck to really wear them down. It worked and they were all asleep within 10 minutes of getting back to camp.

Dalt gets on the board.

Nice Cutty's and they were hitting hoppers starting at around 10:00 AM.

Spots

Dalt had the fish of the trip.

It was a violent take...

Old homestead.

Actually got a little rain...

Lunch time where we usually start!

Abbey Grey

Dalt battles a giant...

White Fish! On the hopper. I caught one on a hopper 5 minutes later in this same hole..

End of the day.

Dalt knocked out the bike ride quick.

Hope you enjoyed the shots!
