Epic Day In The Rain

Had a great day on a small stream today. It rained for the first two hours but we stayed on point and the rain finally stopped.

Tell me this guy doesn't look like a dolphin....

We caught several before this one but this was the first big one and the first one where it was safe to get out the camera. We were all soaked!

This guy had a very pronounced blue dot behind his eye.

A look up stream to Jon's waiting monster...

A shot of Al and I after the big Brown.

Took the dropper. Jon had "the" bug of the day. Sadly he only had one though. I need to stock up because it was a great dropper...

Here is a series of photos of his monster. He proclaimed "fish of a lifetime"... I agree. It was big!

Sweet Fish and Jon seems to have a fat lip... Haha

Cougar kill. Evidence of feeding was apparent. Most of the meat was picked clean and I found the stomach a few yards away...

Al was fishing this hole and we were all complaining about the smell and right then Al stumbled onto the carcass.

I had a first... I finally landed two fish at once. I have hooked two at once before but never brought them both to hand.

 Gun Slinger..

Al had a couple in here...

 A look up stream...

We all caught several fish but it should be noted they were all on the dropper.. Al was the only one to hook one on a hopper but no one ever landed one... Indicative of the weather.

 A look up the valley...

On a some what funny note... When we were gearing up Jon realized he forgot his boots. Good thing Al happened to bring an extra pair. Jon also left his sandwich in the car so he missed lunch. Hehe...

Congrats to Jon on his fish!

Thanks,
Chris Giles
